Configure Remote Desktop
Many people ask how they can remotely access their office computer from off-campus, such as when they are home. This guide demonstrates how anyone with Windows XP Professional can configure Remote Desktop so that they can access and control their office computer. Please note that Windows XP Home does not feature the ability to configure Remote Desktop and that previous versions of Windows, such as Windows 2000, also do not have this ability. However, you can use any version of Windows to connect to a Remote Desktop enabled computer. This means that if your office computer is Windows XP then you can control it using Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT4, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. In fact, you can even use a Apple Macintosh computer to control a Remote Desktop session on a Windows XP computer.
